D10 Hosts District-Wide School Safety Week

D10 wraps up school safety week!  Our goal was to emphasize the importance of preparedness and safety protocols in various emergency scenarios. Highlights included bus evacuation drills, where students practiced orderly and efficient exits from buses, and Metra Rail train presentations that focused on rail safety and the importance of awareness around train tracks. Fire drills were conducted, ensuring staff and students knew the quickest and safest routes out of buildings. Students participated in a police drill led by the Itasca Police Department. These are just some of the things that helped foster a proactive safety culture and helped equip students and staff with essential skills to handle emergencies.

We would like to thank the Itasca Fire Protection District, Westway Coach, Itasca Police Department, and METRA for their assistance in helping to facilitate our school safety week!
