Mrs. Lam
Hola! My name is Mrs. Lam and I am honored to be chosen as a new first grade teacher at Raymond Benson Primary School! I knew from the moment I arrived at Itasca in 2020 that this was my home, and I’ve spent every year since then making great memories here at District 10. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Purdue University and am currently enrolled at Aurora University for my masters in Elementary Education. In my spare time I like to walk along trails with my dog, go to concerts, play board games, read, and write my own fictional stories. I’ve taught many grades but primary has always held a special place in my heart. I know from personal experience the impact that early education has on lifelong learners, especially those learning English as a second language. It is my goal to create a welcoming learning environment and encourage positivity and kindness in my classroom. I’ve learned a lot this past year from excellent educators, and I look forward to bringing all of that knowledge into my profession. I’ve never felt more welcome than I do at District 10, from the amazing support staff to the hard working teachers, and even the administrators pushing us to our greatest potential. Each year at Benson has been memorable, so I’m very grateful for this new beginning here.
